Submitting downloads by users?
Any way to force registration, like you did for me in ST 1.8?

Submitting downloads by users?
Actually, there is one (contentteller.php/files_submitpad) but I forgot to add it to the files menu
And I also just noticed there is no page to submit a PAD file, just one for manually entering file information (contentteller.php/files_submitfile).

Yes, this seems easy to add.
So Phillip, could you please add this?

Yes, this is a setting under preferences
This is one of the rare undefined index errors. I build preview 5 with full debug output so you see sometimes such errors. Please report all undefined index errors in the bug forum.

But I'd like to get people to register to submit. Can that be done? having registered members is good.

I mean outside the admin area.

That's very good then. But I'd like to get people to register to submit. Can that be done? having registered members is good.
Also, since we're on the subject, after enabling that module and going to
..../contentteller.php/files_submitfile
I get this:
And, related or not, the captcha on that page doesn't display.

No, there is a public submission form . You may want to activate the files blocks under Blocks => Manage Blocks. The blocks that you are currently using are for content sites.

The submission form is in the admin section. I want them to submit their files themselves easily, so I don't have to hunt down developers all over the internet and ask them to submit their programs, and without having to make them admins and give them access to the cadmin section.
"Oh you want to submit files? well after registration you can't. You have to to go to /cadmin/, not login through the frontpage. That's a different login".
You can't expect me to make them admins, even with restricting their privileges to the files section only, they would still get access to files/PADs submitted by others. And you know very well that a lot of people don't use PAD files, some don't even know what they are and some don't care, because sites like download.com don't require them to use that format, they have a regular form for submissions. I want to make it easy for developers to register and submit, not ask them to download a PAD builder, spend lots of time learning how to use it and then ask them to FTP the PAD to their site (if they even have one) and explain to them why logging in from the frontpage doesn't allow them to add downloads or PADs.
to cut a long story short:

They can specify the PAD file location in the submission form, so the admin can approve and track the file. Anything else is something for the next release
It there any special reason why they should edit their own files? Once the PAD file get changed, the CMS automatically detect this change and update the file.

Phillip I asked you some time ago about creating a group of developers in the CMS who would be allowed to submit and edit their own files (but not the files submitted by others) like you have to be subscriber. This wasn't possible in ST, and it still doesn't seem possible now. Right now to submit pad files you still have to be an admin? how are developers going to submit their files? I obviously don't want them to become admins and upon registering they don't get access to pad submission, as far as I can tell? Can they edit their files but not those of others once they register?
