Read More/Extended News Option Automatic Trigger (1/1)

Even though I don't cross the "Extended News" box with the cursor, the "Read More" is triggered sometimes. I suspected perhaps using a MAC/Safari might do it since a PC/Explored I used in the past wouldn't do it. But I can't detect a pattern as to what triggers it sometime and doesen't at other times when not dropping text into the extended news section.

Is there any way to disable the "Read More" on a particular story if it is triggered since it is buried somewhere in the code and not adjustable from the news or extended news windows or other obvious way?

It sounds like your admin account has no permissions for the template module. The "other" area is only visible from the first admin account.

Alternatively, you could download the template over FTP, edit it, and reupload it again. The template is located at /templates/news_more.tmp.php.

Thanks.

I have never been in the templet area and don't know how to access it.

I have gone through all of the categories under Main, News, Content, Users & Stats with the exception of Clear Cache since I don't know exactly what it deletes and fears it may have automatic delete of something I don't want lost.

Where is the access for editing templets?

I'm going to look further in this site and see if there is a tutorial.

After reviewing an area on your tutorial which says:

Other:
Websites:
Here you can add other websites The Storyteller CMS is to control. Currently the CMS supports up to 99 websites.
Permissions:
Here you can set the permission of your admin users and what areas they are allowed to edit.
Config:
This is the configuration file that you set up when you ran the cinstall script. You can make changes if necessary here.

I don't see this area "other". I'm an administrator, but do I need a higher authority to see this area on my screen?

Even if using the WYSWYG or HTML feature, is there no simple way to disable the automatic link generating feature if it occurs?

You could remove the link by editing the template news_more. You need to remove the following line from the template:

<br /><br /><a href="https://www.contentteller.com/story.php?id=$insert[story_id]">Read more</a>

I normally go to the "add" screen instead of the "WYSIWYG" screen because I have often just dropped in HTML code in the box. I use the "WYSIWYG" after initially dropping in the text with HTML coding to check verify the formatting and sometimes to make further changes because of peculiarities and errors which seemed to occur that time to time using the "WYSIWG." Sometimes changes just couldn't be made in the WYSIWG.

Some of those problems have come close to disappearing with the last Safari update. In fact, I still get a "May Not Be Supported" box when opening the "WYSIWYG"?

Even if using the WYSWYG or HTML feature, is there no simple way to disable the automatic link generating feature if it occurs?

Are you using the WYSIWYG Editor?
