Some java script or CSS work just fine in all browsers but Internet Explorer. IE seems always a little more critical.

I don't know, it could be. After all, the error comes before the XHTML header, so I can see how it could mess up the IE HTML parser.

 http://www.file-portal.net/ess20/contentteller.php/files_details/avant_browser.html

when going from this page to any of the links (content, mailing list, kb) I get the same error.
Unknown module

When visiting those links from the frontpage, they work fine.

Edit:

I accidentally found out all of the above problems only happen in Internet Explorer (I'm running Vista).

The bookmarking icons, security code display ok in opera, and the unknown module problem is gone as well.
