Questions about Esselbach Storyteller CMS System Pro focusing on the download aspect of the software:

1. Does the system support sub-categories inside sub-categories? Example: Games > Action > D > Doom 3 > videos

2. Does it support multiple mirrors both internal affiliated mirrors as well as external mirrors (other sites not affiliated? Affiliated meaning clicking the

link downloads the file, unaffiliated meaning it would take the hyperlink to their page for that file, but not the file directly.

3. Is there a limit on how many mirrors a single file can have?

4. If a file is removed, is it possible to put a removal message in the url link, but not have a "empty file" sitting inside a file category?

5. On the comparison chart, what is meant by "Hold Back" under the downloads section?

6. Please explain how the Download Queue works. I was unable to see this in action at any of the example sites. Are there any screenshots of what this queue

looks like?

7. Is there any type of addition (mod) that exists that would display a bar graph of how full each mirror is? Or would this require an external php

programmers work?

8. What is meant by "POP3 Email News Import"?

9. How do subscriptions work? Can you define some files as being for subscribers only, while other files are free for everybody?

10. How does the Thumbnail Functionality work as far as uploading? If I have an image that I want to be the thumbnail, will the system auto shrink it? Not

simply re-adjust the display of the images pixel width and hieght, but physically shrink the image?

11. What's meant by "Download Image Upload"?

12. What's meant by "Antileech Function (Redirect)" and "Antileech Function (Parse)"?

13. What type of information does the Leech Log provide?

14. Can file comments be switched for either subscribers or non-subscribers, depending on what I want?

15. How does Vbulletin integration work? (If I am only interested in using the download part of the system is there anything that can be integrated?

If I could get some detailed answers on these questions I would be most appreciative.

Hi Philipp,

Can you give me any type of ETA for version 2.0? I need the sub-category function before I can get started. A few months? 6 months? More? Anything? This software looks like it's exactly what we've been looking for, but that subcategory is a function that we need to even begin building a site focused on files.

Also, is there any type of online admin demo that would allow me to test out and see a behind the scenes look at the download functions?

There are no subcategories yet. The subcategory feature is planned for version 2.0 later this year

Redirections are supported

Yes, the default installation support up to 8 mirrors. However, with the extra fields and some slight modifications you should can extended this to 28.

Users can submit their programs there.

Storyteller act as mail client and download all news from your news@domain POP3 account to the news queue

You can upload images in the download section

Redirect will redirect to the file
yourdomain => otherserver/file.zip

Parse will parse the file through the script. In this case, the file need to be located on your server.

Download comments can be switched on/off for each file

Storyteller will use the vB database for the logins and registrations.

1) Users can login and post comments
2) Subscribers can login to download files
