I'd like to link a poll on our forums to a block on our site so that visitors can vote from the homepage.

Thanks, now I get the option to vote but after I vote... no results or options for results. I can go back into the news story... and it asks me again to vote.

It seems that only website registered members can vote. How can this be setup to allow guests to vote? I have created a news story with poll but don't seem to be able to vote!

News Settings => Main => Everyone can vote on a poll? (optional) => Yes

There is a block script (Latest Poll)

Also, is it possible to tweak the colours/styles of the poll since our site is quite dark those default colours are better suited for white background websites.

The vote bar? You find the image here /images/votebar.png

Not yet. However, you can attach a poll to a news story and show that poll in a block.
