No news... but I just imported some?
I need to reproduce problems in order to fix them . However, I cannot reproduce the problem with duplicated news (which rss feed are you using?) and empty news pages so far.
Hmm... The error message is "The articles database is currently empty" and not "The news database is currently empty"? In this case you most likely select the wrong module. All news will be imported to the news section only. The articles section is for longer articles/reviews.

The news section needs a LOT of work. Not only is it REALLY confusing, it is also not working properly. I got duplicate news when importing from a feed, and after approving them, they refuse to show up.

Oops, I did it again
21:45 GMT my time, (don't know the server time, I'll have to ask). Imported about 4 more news or so. Again, "The articles database is currently empty".

No. It's on localhost. At least that's what all my scripts work with.

Is your webhosting provider using an external/separate MySQL database server (not localhost)?

No, after posting the screenshot, I didn't do anything with CT that I can remember.
It's really weird.
Enable caching system = No.
Edit: maybe it's something with the server time?

The news are now showing up. Did you change anything? Perhaps you have the caching system enabled?

Well, something is definitely not working right. I imported some news again, and when I go to "News->manage stories" is lists two news, but when going to http://www.file-portal.net/ess20//contentteller.php/news
I get "The news database is currently empty".

I see. I'll check to see if that solves it.

You need to enable this option to import HTML news correctly. Perhaps I should add a routine to remove all HTML tags if this option is disabled?

I don't know. I find the news import in CT confusing. I imported 8 more news and now they all show up. Go figure...
Anyway, some HTML content still isn't interpreted correctly.

Perhaps you imported the news to the news queue?

Somehow "The news database is currently empty", but I just imported 10 stories from an RSS feed. Is it a mistake of mine or is it a bug?
