How to use shortening for Twitter URLs?

Actually, how do I post the new file entries to Twitter? The way I am doing it now is click on the Twitter icon which appears next to the Google+ icon, while I am logged into my Twitter account, but CT is not using any shortener for files links, even though I have set it to use TinyURL. Do I need an account with TinyURL as well, like with Bit.ly? Am I doing it wrong?

Hm. I think I was misled a bit. The links are shortened, but their titles are not.
My twitter links look like this file-portal.net@fileportalnet
FileTypesMan 1.62 http://www.file-portal.net/files/details/filetypesman.html…
Others' links are displayed like this (Techcrunch for instance) YouTube Changes Its Content ID Appeals Process http://tcrn.ch/Qsv3zc by @fredericl

Maybe TinyURL changed someting? I will look into it tomorrow. Bit.ly is working fine but Twitter is now also automatically shorting links.
