Yes, they are about 98% compatible. A few newer elements like the additional block appearances with collapsible switch will not showing properly.
To import a Contentteller 2.0 style to Contentteller 2.1.
Put the template tmpl.xml file into your import_export directory. Then you can import it over Templates => Import/Export => Import/Update Template Set from XML file.
Select Templates => Manage Templates => Check the import template set and then select "Copy new templates from master template set". This will copy any new templates into the old template set.
