Couple questions

Hi Phillip,

I've been searching high and low for a CMS that will do what I need for my hardware review site. I came across Storyteller and I'm very impressed. I've been playing with the free version and I have a couple questions.

Sometimes when I add a review or news the reviews don't show up on the front-end site. Is this common and is it something I can fix?

Also, is there a way to make pages in the admicp automatically return to the previous page or home page after confirming a news/review entry or settings change? Right now it just stays at the "Done" page. It would save some clicks if it automatically returned.

I'm really happy with the CMS right now. I will probably end up buying the full version. I'm glad you offer a free version, it is helping me make a decision. If there wasn't a free version I probably wouldn't even be considering it.

Yes, it is even possible to add this feature to the current version with a small modification.

Thanks a lot Phillipp. I'm planning on buying the full version soon.

Would it be possible in the future to make the print feature for reviews, print the whole review instead of just an individual page?

Thanks. An old bug in the sub-categories function causes this. It seems like that I missed this one in the latest revision of 1.7.2 freeware.

When I tried adding an admin user it created the user but didn't give any administrative permissions. I had to manually change the permissions in the database through phpmyadmin. Is that normal?

You need to set the permission under Other/Permissions in cadmin.

Another bug in the freeware version. I will release soon an updated freeware version that fixes both issues.

I set up an admin account for you with username/password Phillipp/esselbach

Thank you for all your help so far.

That's odd. Can you post a link to your test install?

Are you using "Submit a review" or Reviews/Add Page in cadmin?

Thanks for the quick reply!

I probably should have phrased my question about the reviews not showing up differently. They don't even show up in the review categories after I have sent a new review. Manually typing the address with the appropriate review number doesn't work either and reviews that I hold back aren't added to the queue. Could it just be a problem with my database?

You could use the news block feature to display your latest reviews. You find this option in cadmin under Other/Websites.

No, this requires some code changes. I will look into it for version 2.0.
