What forum will you run when you move this site to CT?

This site will be not switched to Contentteller. The Contentteller project will be relocated to it’s own website before the first release candidate is available. The new Contentteller website will most likely run vBulletin along with their project tools.

OR, I wait switching to CT until the forum module is done, which means waiting even longer, and it's been a 3+ year wait already.........

The new forum module is only months away. The release cycle will be much shorter after the initial release of 1.0. I expect a few releases each year.

I'm pretty disappointed that the forum has been put on the back burner, as I consider that very important for my site. If I have to move to an external forum, I highly doubt I'll be able to import the ST forum into it.

Will the acquire import also create new vbulletin threads for old comments/stories or only newer will be created?

No, it will only import the comments to the Contentteller database.

Ok, I found that now Smiling Face

I haven't imported anything yet until I can resolve the vbulletin integration thing (I just posted a new topic for that). Although this is a test only I want to simulate closely how an actual upgrade will go.

Will the acquire import also create new vbulletin threads for old comments/stories or only newer will be created?

Thanks

Julio

Yes, you can import the data with the acquire module. Only the user import is currently broken in preview 4. This problem is fixed in the next release.

Philipp,

Sorry if I missed this from a previous thread but does the current beta support imports from Storyteller?

I'm trying to run a copy locally and prepare for an eventual upgrade.

Thanks

Julio

No, I am afraid not, after the forum module is not part of the 1.0 release. The forum module is planned for the next major release, but honestly there is no ETA for that right now.

What's the ETA on the forum module?
