What about setting a default forum for discussions?
Setting - select default forum for discussions if no specific forum or thread is allocated Y/N + dropdown.
Do you want discussion on this [Article] to go to the default forum? default NO.
so can just toggle to feed comments into that forum.

Nor does the list group the threads under Forums or Forum Categories. What we need really is to see a copy of the admin hierarchy of forums. (On XF that is known as the node tree) That will be familiar to the admin and easy to find the right forum to select.
On the current type of list it will be a muddle to find anything after only 50 or so forums - many boards have 100s!
Good idea. I will try to implement this in Contentteller 2.2
I thought it was going to be possible to create a new forum thread as part of creating an article?
Yes, there is an option where you can select a forum under advanced. This option is only available for new articles.
The selection list of threads is a bit rough. It clearly orders by most recent thread added. This makes no sense to logical categories.

It would be good to set a default forum for discussion of Articles.
(Can toggle on/off per Article, then if toggled off can also select a thread as now)
So if there is not an allocated thread, a Comment link takes you to this forum to start a new thread.
Even better the link generates a new thread in this article discussion forum - with the name of the article already in its Subject line!
