Setup:
win2003 server
Mysql 4.0.16-nt
PHP 4.3.4
storyteller-151-noreg
phpBB2 - installed successfully

After I run cinstall.php I get the following message

When I check the database - no tables have been created
When I check the config.php file all it contains is <?php $estc = ""; ?>

I've set the appropriate permissions

I'm installing on the server sometime over the weekend anyway.

You need to use Windows Explorer to change the folder write permissions (right click the folder => properties)

At the moment I'm just testing the software on my XP machine. When I have finished testing and move it to my site it will be a Windows 2003 Server Standard server on a HP Compaq dl360, Xeon 3.4 GHZ processor with 1GB Ram.

If you're not sure it doesnt matter, I'll install it on the WS2003 machine and use the ftp chmod facility.

I'm having this same problem... I'm trying to set this up on my localhost... How do I set permissions on the files on my own PC?

To get it going I had to change the permissions in windows not thru IIS6

the \Templates has read, write & execute permissions
