Hi

How can I change "Powered By" notice from footer of my site, to make it suite to my site, I also tryed to write it by hand in template but then my footer doesnt show up at all.

I guess its due to Free version limitations we have to include
"<!-- Copyright notice -->
$insert[powered_by]
<!-- Copyright notice -->"
in site footer, else footer wouldnt work, but i'm not sure maybe there is something wrong in my footer html code

By the way my only concern is that "Free Version" text at the bottom of my page. for sure i'll include powered by notice with link to this site.

and one more question, is it illegal to change powered by notice in free version?

No, you can't remove this in the freeware version. Only the licensed version allows you to customize the "Powered by" notice.
