In this case you might want to wait until the second test release of Contentteller 2.0 is available.

Go figure. Must have been one of those computer gremlins. Imported it on my website and it works just fine. But what about paging results? All the categories have lots of records,
http://www.file-portal.net/download.php?cat=1
now has about 3500, and it seems they all display on the same page.
And the same goes for the admin area.

Perhaps It would be the best you upload and import the database on your webspace and see if there are still problems.

I could upload a Mysql dump. It's actually installed on my own PC, not on the website, because I needed to have MyODBC installed to allow Mysql to communicate with access.

2006 MySQL server went away
I do, but only when trying to access Downloads. I imported into esselbach_st_donwloads 17539 records from an MS Access database using MyODBC. The table displays Ok in PHPmyadmin, which is the latest version btw.
But in esselbach, when going to downloads.php, I get
General (15744 files). So as you see, the record count is wrong, and so is the category list.
http://www.file-portal.net/pics/error2006-1.PNG
I assume it gets the download categories from esselbach_st_downloadscat
and as you can see there is no category "General"
There is no category called General in es

2006 MySQL server went away
Only MyISAM have a manual repair feature because the tables tend to crash sometimes under heavy load situations. InnoDB on the other side is usual much more stable; at least I had never any issues with it. A way to get the InnoDB tables checked is restarting the MySQL server.
What exactly is the problem? I thought you get an error 2006?
There is a glitch (at least in older versions of phpMyAdmin) where phpMyAdmin miscalculates the numbers of records in InnoDB tables.
Does this mean InnoDB tables can't be repaired?

The DB seems to work fine in PhpMA. All the tables seems to work, even st_downloads. Funny thing is it Storyteller doesn't detect downloads categories correctly. It thinks all the ~17000 records in st_downloads are under the General category, which is a news category, not a downloads category.

but the table in Php Myadmin has "~17,538 " records.

It just hit me. going to Downloads on the frontpage says
General (15744 files)
but the table in Php Myadmin has "~17,538 " records. You think exporting as SQL and importing again would fix it? Otherwise, what can I do to import a csv whose columns don't match those of esselbach_st_downloads in that table? No tool I've tried worked correctly. Excel messes up numeric fields, dates and separators whatever I try.
MySQL GUI Tools 5.0 doesn't allow advanced CSV manipulations
And running mysql in command line gives:
mysql> REPAIR TABLE `esselbach_st_downloads`;
esselbach.esselbach_st_downloads
The storage engine for the table doesn't support repair |
1 row in set (0.00 sec)
Does this mean InnoDB tables can't be repaired?

So what can I do? I made phpmyadmin repair the table but I still get the same error. I've tried to import some data using Access and MyODBC (the only way I could get it to work, since stupid Excel completely messes CSV data).

I never had this error before but it seems related to corrupted InnoDB tables.

Do you have any idea what that means, Philipp?
